Currently, as you know, VAT on a week charter in Croatia is 13%. However, if the Charter starts in Montenegro, VAT becomes zero - so when you rent a yacht in Croatia, many charters start from Montenegro (e.g. Boka Kotorska Bay) - Croatia here are close and the shipping cost is additionally occurring with this preparation one way route, not much harm significant savings on VAT. But such a "good life", it seems, may soon end. In the upcoming season, the Croatian authorities intend to amend the scheme, leaving the VAT applicable in proportion to the number of days to find the yacht in Croatia that makes it unprofitable to start from Montenegro, if it is done only in order to save VAT (for the beauty of Montenegro is known for!) - because immediately after entering the Croatian territorial waters (check-in at the nearest Marina) arises from VAT.
